====== MP STUDIO 2 Phase 10 · Troubleshooting ====== 한국어 | **English** When downloading, monitoring or the program check runs into a problem, use this page to find what to check for each message shown on the screen. If a cell is red or its address text is orange, first select the cell and read the reason shown at the bottom of the Inspector. ===== Download ===== ^ Symptom ^ What to check ^ | The download does not start. | You cannot download while there are red error cells. Go through the error cells with Ctrl+. and correct them. | | **Choosing ETHERNET as the download port requires an IP address and a port number.** | Enter the IP address and port number in **Setting → Communication Port**. | | The download ends with **Communication error. Check the port and the device** | Check that the COM number of the download channel matches the number in Device Manager, and check the cable and the device power. If the device still does not respond when you download again, turn the device off and on and try again. | | **Checksum (01) is wrong. You need to download again** (or Checksum (02)) | The data was damaged during the transfer. Check the cable connection and download again. | | **The device was still waiting in download mode after an earlier download was interrupted.** | An earlier download was interrupted. Download again. | | A message says the channel is Modbus RTU Master and cannot be used for download. | In the **Communication Setting** window, turn off **Use this channel for download** for that channel. | | A message says the program exceeds the program memory. | Check how much is exceeded with **Run → Program Memory** and make the program smaller. | | A window asks you to update the firmware. | The firmware version of the device differs from the version MP STUDIO 2 requires. Follow the instructions to update the firmware. | ===== Monitoring ===== ^ Symptom ^ What to check ^ | The device pill shows **No response**. | Check the cable, the device power and the download channel. | | The device pill shows **Device program differs**. | The ladder was edited after the download. Download again. | | Values appear in the wrong cells. | A different project may be on the device. Download the current project again. | | **Monitoring (fixed areas only)** is shown. | The program check failed, so only the fixed memory areas are being read. Once you correct the error cells, all values are read. | | Outputs behave differently from the ladder. | Check whether the device pill shows **Forced N**. Forced values remain even after a power cycle. Release them in the **FORCE INPUT / OUTPUT** window with **Clear → Apply Force**. | ===== Editing and Program Check ===== ^ Symptom ^ What to check ^ | An I/O address cell is red. | The address does not exist on the selected model. The Inspector shows the range that can be used on that model. Check that the model in the device pill matches your actual device. | | A cell with an address such as D or M is red. | The number is outside the data memory size. Increase the area size in **Setting → Data Memory**, or correct the number. | | A symbol cannot be placed. | You cannot place a symbol on a function block. Select an empty cell. | | Two coil cells with the same address are red. | Each bit should be turned on and off by one coil only. If there are several conditions, combine them in parallel (OR) in one rung, or use SET and RESET. | | An edge cell is red. | An address that the device overwrites, such as an input (P) address, was used as the name of the edge cell. Leave the name empty to use an automatic name. | | Monitoring turned off after an edit made during monitoring. | Monitoring turns off when the program changes (**Monitoring stopped because the program changed.**). Download again and then turn monitoring on. | | Some cells are hatched in simulation. | The simulator cannot run those cells. Check their behavior on the real device. | ===== Getting Support ===== If the problem is not solved, send the symptom, a screenshot and the project file with **Help → Report a Problem…**. ===== Related Pages ===== * Phase 6 · Check, Communication and Download * Phase 7 · Monitoring and the Data Table ← Back to the MP STUDIO 2 User Manual
