====== MPA K Module ====== The K module adds six DC 5 V high-speed pulse outputs to an MPA Series controller. Up to two modules provide 12 channels, with a maximum output frequency of 1 MHz. Y analog outputs and K pulse outputs share a 12-channel maximum. ===== When to use it ===== Use the K module with external equipment that accepts pulse inputs, such as a motor controller or dimming device. For analog voltage or current signals, select the [[en-us_products:mpa_y|Y analog output module]]. ===== Pulse output example ===== In MP STUDIO, the ''FDPWM'' function block uses ''PORT'' for the output port, ''FREQ'' for frequency in Hz, and ''DUTY'' for duty cycle from 0 to 100%. Setting ''PORT=0'', ''FREQ=1000'', and ''DUTY=70'' continuously outputs a 1 kHz pulse at 70% duty cycle on PWM0. Use the ''PWMOFF'' function block to stop the pulse output. PWM0–2 share one pulse generator, as do PWM3–5. If ports in the same group specify different frequencies, the last executed command sets the frequency for that group. ===== Check before use ===== * Confirm that the ordered product includes a K module. Optional modules are assembled into the selected configuration before shipping. * Compare the receiving device's pulse input voltage, permitted frequency, and input circuit with the product specifications. * If Y modules are also installed, check the combined Y/K channel count.
