Adding an expansion module means the unit is dismantled and re-assembled to order, so such an order is difficult to exchange or refund. Some combinations are not available on some models; if yours cannot be built we will contact you.

The program runs on your master, not on this unit
MNET-8A8R is a communication slave. A PC, SCADA station, HMI or PLC opens a serial link, and from that moment the field I/O is simply a set of addresses it reads and writes. There is no firmware to write, no toolchain to install, and no board to flash — which is why the protocol is fixed once, at order time.
Three serial terminals
RS-232, RS-485 and TTL UART are all brought out to screw poles. Wire the one your master uses.
Slave, by design
The station number is called a slave address, and it is set on the unit itself. The master owns the conversation.
Chosen at order time
Modbus RTU slave or LS ELECTRIC Cnet slave. One unit speaks one of them, and it cannot be changed after shipping.
Terminal strip (silkscreen)
Poles are drawn exactly as the product silkscreens them. The +5V pole belongs to Int VCC; its allowed current is not stated in any source, so no figure is printed here.

Before you wire it
- Match the protocol you ordered to the driver on the master. A Modbus master cannot talk to a Cnet unit.
- RS-485 is a two-wire pair: check 485+ / 485− polarity, and consider twisted pair, shielding and termination on a long run.
- F.G is a field ground pole, not a signal return. GND is the return.
System layout
The three links are alternatives, not three simultaneous channels — wire the port your master actually uses.

Eight isolated inputs and eight dry relay contacts
Both sides are split into two groups of four, and each group has a common of its own. That is what 8P, 4P 1COM means: you can run one group off a 24 V sensor loop and the other off a 5 V one, or switch two circuits that share nothing.

Ratings
- The contact rating is the manufacturer's figure: Max. DC30V or AC300V 5A. Do not exceed it.
- Relay contacts are dry: the load supply is yours to provide. Fit a diode, TVS or snubber across an inductive load.
- NPN or PNP is decided by how you wire the common, so check the sensor's polarity before power-up.
I/O register mapDECIMAL ADDRESSES
Every point has a number, and that number is the whole interface
Once the link is up, using this unit is reading and writing decimal addresses. Inputs are 0 to 7, outputs are 32 to 39, and the status bit is 1000. The LS ELECTRIC Cnet side maps onto the same points in the P area.
Terminals and their addresses
Addresses are decimal, exactly as the manufacturer's map prints them. COM poles carry no address because the master never addresses a common.

Reading the map
- These are the unit's internal addresses. An HMI that expects 1-based display addresses will need its own offset — check what your driver sends on the wire.
- Modbus function codes are not published for this model, so none are printed here. Confirm them with ILOGICS before writing the master.
Baud rate and slave addressDIP SWITCH
Two dip blocks, one rule: the left switch is worth the most
Communication speed and station number are set on the unit, with no software involved. Both blocks read the same way — the leftmost switch is the most significant bit, and a slider pushed toward the ON mark counts.

Both patterns were re-derived from the manufacturer's artwork by measuring every slider: all 24 published patterns match this rule.

Setting it
- Master and unit must agree on speed, data bits, parity and stop bits. Only speed and address are set here; the rest is not published for this model.
- The factory default position is not documented, so read the switches on the unit rather than assuming one.
- Every unit on one RS-485 bus needs a different address.

Analog, temperature and pulse, added at order time
The base unit is digital in and relay out. Analog input, PT100 temperature, analog output and pulse output arrive as modules built into the same enclosure — an 8A8R-X2FYK is an 8A8R with two X modules, one F, one Y and one K. An X module set to NTC mode is read from these registers, not from its analog addresses above. The manufacturer's map prints this block for X1 and X2 only.
Before ordering a module
- Adding a module means dismantling and reassembling the unit, so exchange and refund are difficult after purchase.
- Some combinations are not possible; ILOGICS will contact you if an order cannot be built as specified.
- Only Y1 and Y2 are listed: the manufacturer's map draws a third and fourth analog-output module with more addresses than the module's own 12-point maximum allows. Ask ILOGICS before ordering three or more Y modules.
- Changing the pulse frequency or the number of pulse outputs is a made-to-order change — ask ILOGICS.
