HMI Connection
Connect an HMI to an ILOGICS industrial Arduino to monitor the machine on screen and control it from the panel.
In Arduino IDE, install the ILOGICS Arduino SDK and use its built-in communication functions.
In MPINO STUDIO2, you only need to fill in the communication settings.
This guide walks through each product's communication channels and wiring, the protocols and address formats, building the HMI screen, and checking the result. Read the chapter for the development tool you actually use, Arduino IDE or MPINO STUDIO2. Terminal names, menus, and address entry vary by HMI model and editor, so keep the HMI manufacturer's manual at hand.
2. Write the program in Arduino IDE
Which protocol page to read
Choose the protocol your HMI supports, then open the page for your development tool.
| Protocol | Arduino IDE | MPINO STUDIO2 |
|---|---|---|
| Modbus RTU | Settings and example | Settings and example |
| LS Electric Cnet | Settings and example | Settings and example |
| Mitsubishi MC (1C frame) | Settings and example | Not available in the Communication settings |
Quick example
This example uses the RS-232 port of MPINO-8A4R-S with Modbus RTU. Instead of real inputs and relay outputs, it checks communication with the internal M and D memory.
- In Wiring the HMI, check the product's RS-232 channel and the HMI's Modbus RTU settings and wiring.
- Upload the sketch from Arduino IDE · Modbus RTU to the product.
- In Building the HMI Screen, connect the example's
D0/D1/D2/M0. Then use Checking Operation to test reading a value, writing a number, and switching a bit.
